Auberge Saint-Gabriel

Imagine celebrating your marriage inside a building that was standing before Montréal looked anything like the city surrounding it today.

Auberge Saint-Gabriel was built in 1688.

Its stone walls have survived centuries of winters, dinners, conversations and celebrations in Old Montréal, giving a wedding here something no newly built venue can imitate: a genuine sense of time.

Today, couples can celebrate across several distinctive event spaces inside the Auberge.

The Truteau room is designed for larger events and weddings, welcoming approximately 110 guests for a seated celebration. Higher in the building, the Grenier occupies the top floor and can accommodate approximately 150 seated guests, offering additional privacy and enough space to separate different parts of the evening.

Each room carries the character of the Auberge differently, but the history follows you everywhere.

There is something wonderfully atmospheric about old stone once evening arrives. Candles seem warmer against it. Flowers look softer. A long dinner feels as though it belongs there.

And just outside is Old Montréal.

Couples can step away from their reception and find cobblestone streets, historic façades and corners of the city that seem almost made for wedding photographs. For a little while, the two of you can wander away from the celebration together before returning through the old doors to the people waiting inside.
