Auberge Des Gallant Restaurant et Spa

Auberge des Gallant is for the wedding that everyone quietly wishes would last the whole weekend.

Set in the countryside of Sainte-Marthe between Montréal and Ottawa, the inn brings together forest, gardens, food, guest rooms and a spa in one place, allowing the celebration to become an escape rather than a few carefully scheduled hours.

Weddings here can grow to around 250 guests, but the spaces have very different personalities.

The Phoenix room is the grander choice, with a cathedral ceiling, large windows looking toward the forest, a private terrace, bar and a dance floor already waiting for the part of the evening when nobody wants to sit down anymore.

The Pavillon des Gallant feels more tucked away.

Separated from the main inn and surrounded by a vast maple grove, it welcomes roughly 80 to 125 guests beneath a cathedral roof, with two fireplaces bringing warmth to the room.

Smaller celebrations have their own spaces too, meaning couples do not have to make an intimate wedding feel lost inside a hall built for hundreds.

Then there is everything around the wedding.

Guests can stay on site in rooms overlooking the gardens or woods. The property has gardens and trails to wander, along with spa facilities for the people sensible enough to arrive before the wedding rather than rushing in that afternoon.

Food is treated as part of the occasion, with wedding menus designed around local producers.

By the time dinner begins, everyone has already spent hours surrounded by the property.

Then the windows darken.

The fireplaces glow.

The dance floor fills.

And nobody has to hurry back toward the city when the night finally ends.
