Auberge de la Pointe feels like a summer wedding on the edge of the Saint-Laurent, where the cocktail hour happens on a terrace above the water and the whole guest list can stay the night.

The four-star resort in Rivière-du-Loup opens each season from early May to mid-October and has been hosting weddings for more than 60 years. Its 107 rooms are spread across seven pavilions, and 69 of them look out on the river, with the Pavillon de la Mer and the Pavillon des Îles holding most of those river-facing rooms.

For the celebration itself, the auberge has multipurpose halls that seat from 25 to 250 guests in a banquet layout, along with covered terraces and river-view terraces for the welcome cocktail. The rooms can be lit in the couple's chosen colours thanks to LED lighting with more than 200 options, and the menu is built to order, whether that means a cocktail-style dinner or a traditional banquet of three to five courses.

The resort has two restaurants, the gastronomic L'Espadon with its fireplace and Le Mirador, a café-bar with a panoramic terrace. Between the events there is an indoor pool, a spa and sauna, a pergola with a fire pit and bikes to borrow, and the region offers golf, wildlife excursions and the ferry to Saint-Siméon.
