What makes Astranova different from other jewellers in Vancouver?
When you reach out to Astranova, you speak directly with Simon. He is one of the few real jewellers of Vancouver, being an experienced designer, goldsmith and master stonesetter. Simon takes the time to truly understand what you're drawn to. He listens before he designs. We are not just a jeweller to our clients, we become their family jeweller.
What is the Astranova experience like?
The process begins with an initial phone or email consultation. This gives Simon a sense of the occasion, your aesthetic, and any references you're drawn to. At your appointment, he listens, refines, and works through ideas with you — bringing them to life in sketches as the vision takes shape.
You don't need to arrive with a perfect brief. Curiosity is enough.
What kind of metals and stones do you work with?
We work with all precious metals - 14K, 18K, 19K, 22K and 24K white, yellow and rose gold, as well as platinum.
Regarding stones, we support natural, lab-grown, and gemstone jewellery.
How much does a custom ring cost?
The pricing of our custom rings really depend on the individual requirements. The price reflects the quality of materials and the level of handcraft involved. The final investment depends on your chosen metal, stone, and the complexity of the design.

Can you make bridal party gifts?
Yes! We have worked with brides to create bridal party gifts, such as pinky rings.
Are custom pieces final sale?
Yes. Custom pieces are made specifically for you — which is exactly why our process is so close and collaborative. From initial sketch to wax model, every detail is refined and approved before we ever touch the metal. We don't make assumptions, and we don't move forward until you're certain. By the time your piece is cast, it's already yours in every way that matters.
Do you make men's jewellery and wedding bands?
Yes. Men's wedding bands and jewellery are a meaningful part of what we do. Simon works with the same attention to material and proportion whether the piece is destined for a man or a woman — clean lines, considered weight, and nothing generic.
If you're looking for a men's wedding band to pair with a custom engagement ring, we'd recommend commissioning both together. The result tends to be more considered, and the process is more efficient.
Are your diamonds ethically sourced and conflict-free?
Yes. All natural diamonds we source comply with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme — the United Nations' international standard designed to prevent conflict diamonds from entering the supply chain. We are happy to discuss our sourcing practices in full during your consultation.
We also offer lab-grown diamonds as a fully traceable alternative for clients who wish to know exactly where their stone originated.
