Whitehern Historic House & Garden

Whitehern Historic House & Garden gives an intimate Hamilton wedding the feeling of stepping behind the city streets and into another time.

At the heart of the property is The Stable, a small cottage-style space with dark wood and original limestone character. It can welcome approximately 40 guests for a ceremony or around 30 for a seated reception, creating a celebration where every person in the room feels close to the moment.

Outside, Whitehern's formal gardens are normally one of its most romantic features. A flagstone pathway, perennial plantings and the historic summerhouse create a ceremony setting for up to approximately 120 guests.

The City currently has a temporary hold on garden and grounds rentals, so couples should check whether outdoor ceremonies have reopened for their preferred date. Indoor daytime rentals continue.

For a smaller wedding, The Stable still offers something wonderfully different from a conventional hall: history, garden views and the quiet charm of an old Hamilton property tucked directly into the heart of downtown.
