Some venues give couples a room. This one gives them 52 acres of lawn and shady trees, and the freedom to imagine the day almost any way they like.
The centre sits in Cambridge, just off Highway 401. Built in 1973 as a country escape for members of the Waterloo Regional Police Association, it opened its doors to the public almost as soon as the hall was finished, and today it hosts everything from weddings and family reunions to awards dinners and outdoor concerts.
The team's own description sets the tone: land a helicopter on the lawn, or get married on the baseball diamond. The grounds also include a heated outdoor pool along with outdoor cooking, eating and sports facilities.
Receptions centre on the Grand Ballroom, which seats up to 400 people. It has a large stage, a sound system, a projector and drop-down screen, an indoor liquor licence and a simple open-concept design that is easy to customize, along with access to the outdoor grounds.
For smaller gatherings, the Restaurant & Games Room seats up to 125 with large screen TVs, pool tables and shuffleboard, while the Board Room seats up to 40. Across all its spaces, the centre suits groups from about 10 to 400.

Every rental includes parking for up to 600, free Wi-Fi and access to the kitchen, bar and wait staff. The centre is a four-time winner of the Cambridge Times Readers' Choice award and won platinum for best banquet facilities in 2016.
