Waskesiu Community Hall and Terrace Gardens

In Waskesiu, a wedding can take place inside a log heritage hall in the middle of Prince Albert National Park, with the lake and the boreal forest just outside the door.

Both halls are Parks Canada heritage buildings in the lakeside townsite, and they are booked through the Waskesiu Chamber of Commerce. Weddings, reunions and retreats are held here throughout the year.

The Community Hall is known for its rustic architecture, oak hardwood floors and classic chinked log walls, with an open-air feel all around it. It seats up to 160 for a banquet, 130 with room for dancing, or 300 for a ceremony set theatre style.

Terrace Gardens has been restored to its 1930s look, with new birch hardwood floors and a wooden stage. It welcomes up to 150 for a banquet, 130 for dinner and dancing, or 300 theatre style.

Both halls are available from the May long weekend through Thanksgiving, which means couples can plan around the long summer days at the lake.

With the national park all around, guests can spend the weekend on the beach, the trails and the water before and after the celebration.
