Van Es Camp & Conference Centre

Some weddings belong among the trees, where guests can wander forest trails, gather by a fire and let the day move at a slower pace.

Van Es Camp and Conference Centre sits near Sherwood Park, about 20 minutes from Edmonton, with 100 acres of natural space and a history of welcoming guests since 1941.

Scenic outdoor ceremony locations are available, and The Chapel, a historic sanctuary with an exposed timber frame interior, seats up to approximately 200 guests. As an unheated heritage building, it is best suited to warmer months.

Receptions take place in Morning Star Hall, a 4,500-square-foot dining and event space for up to around 165 guests, with a cozy fireplace and an outdoor patio. A commercial kitchen serves the camp's catering partner or self-catering groups.

For larger gatherings, the Harmony Centre offers theatre-style seating for up to 180 and a maximum capacity of 250.

Guests can stay on site. Unity Lodge offers semi-private bedrooms with private bathrooms, the Retreat House sleeps up to eight and suits a bridal party, and dorm-style cabins offer a rustic option.

A bridal suite and professional event coordination are available, and an indoor pool, firepits and walking trails give guests plenty to enjoy.
