Vallican Whole Community Centre

Some places are built by a community, and you can feel it the moment you step inside. Warm wood, high ceilings and more than fifty years of gatherings give the room a story of its own.

The Vallican Whole is a rural community centre and rental venue in the heart of the Slocan Valley, set on 11 acres of mixed cedar forest with views of the surrounding mountains.

Built by the community in 1971, the building has a rich wood interior, a sprung maple dance floor, great acoustics and a capacity of 225 people.

The main floor and mezzanine hold a large dance and banquet area, a moveable platform stage and a fully equipped kitchen with electric and gas ranges, a large cooler and serving island. Dishes for up to 150 people, tables and chairs are available.

Outside, the grounds include an open space for outdoor ceremonies, meadows and seating areas, and walking trails through the forest, including a sculpture walk by local artists.

A renovated basement gallery offers a quieter space, and dimmable lighting, stage lighting and rentable sound equipment help shape the evening.

The main floor and mezzanine are wheelchair accessible with an elevator, and there is a large parking area on a quiet country road.
