At Triwood Community Association, a wedding reception glows under strands of fairy lights strung between tall framed windows, with daylight pouring in until the soft evening lighting takes over.

Triwood is a non-profit community association in northwest Calgary that recently marked its 65th anniversary. Its halls are open for rental to members and to the wider community.

Charleswood Hall is the main room for weddings. Covering 2,885 square feet, it seats up to 200 guests for dinner and 225 theatre style. Four large framed windows stretch across the full width of the hall, dressed in layered white sheer curtains with fairy lights between them, so the room is bright all day and warm and cosy at night.

Collingwood Hall adds 2,037 square feet under a handsome wood beam ceiling, with seating for 100 at tables or 150 theatre style. Double doors join it to Charleswood Hall, which makes it easy to open the two rooms up for a larger celebration.

Tables, banquet chairs, a microphone, a podium and an overhead speaker system come with both halls. The bright Annex room can be set up as a getting-ready space for the wedding party.

For a more casual gathering, JT's Clubhouse, the association's family friendly restaurant and pub with a pool table and dart boards, can also be turned into a wedding reception space.
