Thompson Landry Gallery

At Thompson Landry Gallery, couples say their vows surrounded by fine art and the limestone walls of a Victorian distillery in Toronto's Distillery District.

The gallery opened in 2006 inside the Stone Distillery Building, where fourteen foot limestone walls, exposed beams and the original distillation tanks and weigh scales still shape the room. It is the only gallery in Toronto devoted entirely to Quebec artists, showing contemporary painters and sculptors alongside the great masters of Quebec.

The 2,700 square foot space seats up to 90 for a ceremony, welcomes up to 70 for a standing cocktail reception and holds 40 for an intimate seated dinner, all with the artwork on display around the guests.

Rentals run for a full day or an evening until 1 a.m. A gallery events supervisor stays on site, couples get two planning meetings with the events team, and the room comes with a Bose sound system and wooden harvest tables, including one that works as a bar. The large central artwork can be taken down to open up the room.

Catering comes from a list of the gallery's chosen partner caterers, and corkage is possible with a special occasion permit. An art specialist can also be on hand to talk with guests about the works.
