The Red Door Wedding Chapel

At The Red Door Wedding Chapel, couples say their vows in a small, softly lit room where flowers sit along the mantle and a bright red door opens onto married life.

The chapel is in Middle Musquodoboit, in the Musquodoboit Valley of Nova Scotia, and was created purely for weddings, vow renewals and small gatherings. It welcomes every kind of couple, is LGBTQIA2S+ friendly, and even makes room for pets who are part of the family.

The space is decorated with gently used, reloved pieces as part of the chapel's commitment to sustainable practices, giving the room a warm, homey charm rather than a formal one.

Ceremonies are led by owner Wendy Robinson, a Justice of the Peace who has worked in weddings since 1985, with a background in gowns, flowers, catering, cakes and decorating.

Packages range from an elopement for the couple and their witnesses to a celebration with up to 30 guests. Each one includes the officiant, a toast to the newlyweds, cake to share and professionally edited photos from the in-house photographer, with time in the chapel set aside for the ceremony and the moments after.

Couples can add live streaming for loved ones who cannot travel, light bites for the whole party, fresh or faux bouquets and boutonnieres, and decor built around a theme of their choosing. Ideas outside the set packages are welcome too.
