The Edgewater Manor

Built in 1920 as a private castle on the shore of Lake Ontario, Edgewater Manor still carries the glamour of another age.

Located on Fruitland Road in Stoney Creek, the historic lakeside mansion is surrounded by manicured grounds, with a sweeping marble staircase and a Romeo and Juliet balcony that give the day a Gatsby-inspired charm.

A lakeside ceremony space showcases the setting, and the outdoor grounds include lawns, a patio, a gazebo area and scenic backdrops. The grounds are fully licensed and fireworks are permitted.

Receptions centre on the chandelier-lit Morris Room, which seats around 100 guests or welcomes 200 standing, with views over the grounds and the lake, stained glass windows, an adjoining bar and an upper tier for speeches.

Smaller weddings can gather in the private dining rooms. The Alexander Room seats 40 with a fireplace, and the Capone Room seats 30 beside a fireplace and stained glass. The covered Gazebo offers lakeside dining for around 50.

For larger guest lists, a tented option on the grounds is available for celebrations of more than 100.

Edgewater Manor is also a fine dining restaurant known for its meats and seafood, and its extensive wine list is selected by an in-house sommelier. Exclusive bookings include use of the bridal suite.
