The Carvers Cottage

At The Carvers Cottage, couples say their vows inside a covered bridge chapel in the woods, surrounded by ponds, streams and hand carved sculptures.

The property sits in the countryside of the Oak Ridges Moraine in Pickering, east of Toronto, with woods, trails and open fields to wander between the ceremony and photos.

It is home to resident carvers Sandra and Luke Andrews, and their wood sculptures are placed throughout the grounds. Luke, a self taught chainsaw artist, has been carving since 1996.

The outdoor chapel offers church pew seating for 110 guests, with more chairs available if needed. A bridal cabin gives the wedding party a private place to get ready, and a Bluetooth speaker with microphone is on hand for the ceremony.

Couples book the grounds for exclusive use during the day for civil ceremonies and pictures, and guests can gather around the campfire pit with bench seating afterwards. Parking is on site, and tours are by appointment.
