The Brighthouse Farm

The Brighthouse Farm describes a wedding here as less like a production and more like a weekend with your favourite people, and the property is designed around that idea.

At the edge of Wellington in Prince Edward County, the farm brings together an 1867 heritage farmhouse and barn on 100 acres, surrounded by fields of wildflowers, wild grasses and pastures.

The restored barn has been turned into a Scandinavian-inspired venue that can seat approximately 120 guests for a sit-down dinner. A handcrafted sailcloth tent can seat approximately 150 for dinner and can also host a ceremony, cocktail hour or a backup plan.

Ceremonies take place on the property, with ceremony pews, a signing table and a rustic arbor included in the wedding package alongside an outdoor bar, lounge seating, white pine harvest tables, string lights and modern white chairs.

Weddings are designed to last a long weekend. The package includes exclusive access to the venue, tent and property for three days, leaving time for welcome barbecues and morning-after brunches.

It also includes a three-night stay for eight guests in the farmhouse, steps from the venue. The house makes a natural home base for getting ready, a rehearsal dinner or brunch.

On-site staffing, partial vendor coordination and a custom wedding workbook with timelines, checklists and vendor recommendations help with planning, and a built-in audio system lets a DJ simply plug in.

The farm is family-run and hosts events from May to October.
