St. Norbert Arts Centre

At the St. Norbert Arts Centre, the evening can close with the sunset glowing through the Tyndall stone ruins of a Trappist monastery.

The centre is a three storey French Provincial building, heritage designated and about 100 years old, set on the banks of the La Salle River in St. Norbert. Acres of deciduous forest surround it, just two minutes from the Perimeter on the south edge of Winnipeg.

Couples can choose from several ceremony settings. The Monastery Ruins beside the centre hold outdoor gatherings, with availability confirmed in January of the wedding year. The Amphitheatre is an outdoor stage framed by the river and trees around 200 years old, and there is also a shaded garden and a courtyard.

Receptions take place in The Gallery, where original hardwood floors, vaulted ceilings and old dormer windows bring soft daylight into the room. Drapery can be added to the ceiling and back wall.

Weddings here are run by Fort Catering, whose packages include buffet or plated dinners planned with the chef, menus for vegan, vegetarian and gluten free guests, and a licensed bar with signature cocktails and mocktails. Ceremony coordination, decor setup, rentals and cleanup are all part of the service.
