At Shire Ridge Ranch & Lodge, a wedding feels like a golden evening on a working ranch, with the foothills of the Rockies rolling out behind every photo.

The ranch sits on a quiet stretch of farmland near Bragg Creek, a scenic drive west of Calgary and close to the trails and peaks of Kananaskis. It is a real working ranch, and the welcome here is personal and unhurried.

Couples can choose between two outdoor ceremony sites, tucked into the meadows and calm corners of the property, with an indoor ceremony ready if the weather has other plans. Arches and guest seating are part of the setup.

Receptions move into the rustic banquet hall, which holds up to 150 guests. Tables, chairs, linens, glassware, centrepieces, candles and a sound system are included, and there are photo spots all around the ranch.

A licensed bar with professional bartenders keeps the evening flowing, and on-site catering can be added. Couples who ride can ask about bringing their own horses into the ceremony or the photos.

The venue is booked from the day before for setup through the morning after for cleanup, so nobody has to rush. Three bed and breakfast suites on the property, the Elk Suite, the Stampede Room and the Windsor Room, keep the closest family right on site.
