Scarboro Golf & Country Club

A wedding at Scarboro Golf & Country Club begins with champagne on a sweeping verandah, looking out over a championship course that has been in play since 1912.

The club sits on 144 acres in Scarborough, about half an hour from downtown Toronto. Its stately Edwardian clubhouse, designed by Toronto architects Langley and Howland, officially opened in 1914.

The course carries a remarkable story. It was redesigned in the 1920s by A.W. Tillinghast and has hosted four Canadian Opens, with names like Sam Snead and Arnold Palmer in its history, which gives photos on the fairways a real sense of place.

Ceremonies can be held outdoors in the gardens with the course as a backdrop, or indoors in one of the clubhouse's historic banquet halls. The Scarboro Room, decorated with keepsakes from golf legends, suits a more intimate dinner.

Menus are designed with each couple, using fresh, local ingredients, and the kitchen is led by an Executive Chef certified by the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs. A catering and events manager guides the planning.

The club hosts only one wedding each day, so the clubhouse and team are focused on a single celebration. There is ample free parking for guests.
