Some wedding venues feel brand new. At SAIT, the celebration can unfold beneath 1920s architecture and three-storey glass ceilings, where history and natural light meet.
Located on SAIT's main campus in central Calgary, with direct access to the CTrain, the venue welcomes couples to host both ceremony and reception, whether stand-up or banquet style.
Macdonald Hall, in Heritage Hall, is described by SAIT as its most romantic space, with high ceilings and an elegant balcony. It can host a ceremony for around 200 guests and a reception for approximately 152 seated or 177 standing, with access to the café and foyer included.
For larger celebrations, the Irene Lewis Atrium pairs the exposed façade of Heritage Hall with three-storey glass ceilings. It can accommodate a ceremony for up to about 800 guests and a reception for approximately 500 seated or 1,000 standing. Couples can also pair spaces, holding the ceremony in one and the reception in the other.
For intimate weddings, Lounge 22 in Begin Tower offers floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the mountains and Calgary's city centre. It welcomes up to around 50 for a ceremony and 40 for a reception.
Each booking includes access to wedding essentials such as chairs, tables, a podium and a built-in audio system, plus an on-site day-of coordinator who oversees setup, transition, takedown and cleanup.
Curated Catering powered by Hotel Arts is SAIT's exclusive caterer, with wedding menus ranging from cocktail receptions to plated dinners and buffets. Guests travelling in can stay on campus on the hotel floor or in the penthouse of the residence building, and the penthouse suite can serve as a space to get ready, with brunch and lunch menus available.
For couples who want heritage character, city and mountain views and a coordinated team, SAIT offers a wedding setting with a real sense of place.
