Saint John Marina

A wedding at the Saint John Marina unfolds right on the water, with the Saint John River stretching out beyond the windows and the evening sky turning gold over the far shore.

The marina sits on the west side of Saint John, on a stretch of riverfront with a long social history. The site began as a sawmill in the early 1900s and later became the Riverview Pavilion, a much loved dance hall through the 1930s and 1940s. The marina itself was established in 1960, and after a change of owners in 2016 the restaurant, banquet room and docks were thoroughly renovated.

Today it is the only full service marina on the lower St. John River, which means boats, docks and open water are part of the scenery for every celebration.

Receptions take place upstairs in the Sutton's Crossing Room, named for the railway crossing that once stood across the road. The renovated hall holds more than 200 guests, fills with natural light, is air conditioned and opens onto a private patio of roughly 1,800 square feet with wide views of the river.

Downstairs, the restaurant and its outdoor patio look over the water toward the sunset, a lovely spot for guests to gather before or after the main event.

The kitchen builds its menus around fresh, local and sustainable ingredients, and the team works with each couple to plan a riverside wedding that suits their style and budget.
