S.S. Klondike National Historic Site

At the S.S. Klondike National Historic Site, couples say their vows on the Whitehorse waterfront beside one of the great sternwheelers that once tied the Yukon to the rest of the world.

From the 1860s until the 1950s, boats like the S.S. Klondike carried people and freight along the territory's rivers. Today the vessel rests on the bank of the Yukon River, cared for by Parks Canada as a national historic site.

Wedding ceremonies and receptions take place on the grounds around the boat, with the river and the historic hull as a backdrop for photos.

Parks Canada asks couples to get in touch at least four weeks before the date. Fees and conditions apply, and conservation work on the vessel means some fencing or equipment may be on site during a season.
