A wedding at Rodney's Oyster House in Calgary feels like a Maritime kitchen party under a skylight, with oysters shucked at the bar and a dance floor that stays busy late.

The oyster house sits in downtown Calgary at 10th Avenue and 4th Street SW. Its look blends industrial bones with a Maritime spirit, and vaulted ceilings let natural light pour into the room from a large skylight.

Couples can hold the ceremony and the reception under one roof. The space works for groups as small as 10 or as large as 400, so a wedding can take one room or the whole house.

The Galley, at the centre of the restaurant, has its own private bar and oyster bar and can join the Engine Room for larger seated dinners. Upstairs, the Oar Loft is a private mezzanine with rustic harvest tables that overlooks the restaurant below, and the Oar Loft Bar sits alongside it with seating along the railing.

For the biggest celebrations, a full buyout seats up to 220 guests or welcomes up to 400 standing, with three full bars, three oyster bars, coat check and washrooms on two levels.

Menus are built for each event and can include non-seafood and vegetarian choices, alongside oyster bar service and a full drinks list.
