Bijou at the Church

At Bijou at the Church, couples celebrate beneath a soaring sanctuary ceiling while stained glass fills a 19th century church in downtown Stratford with golden light.

The building opened in 1874 as Christ's Church for Stratford's Congregational community and later carried several names before becoming a restaurant in 1975. Today the late Victorian landmark keeps its timber trusses, heritage lighting and gallery spaces, all still on view.

The venue now joins two well loved Stratford dining names under one roof, bringing a long culinary tradition into this historic space.

The main dining room hosts both the ceremony and the reception for up to 150 guests. Couples can also marry elsewhere and return here to celebrate. A chandelier lit bar and adjustable spotlights set the mood once the dancing begins.

Menus are shaped for each wedding around the season, using ingredients from Perth County and Southwestern Ontario, and the wine director pairs bottles from an extensive cellar. The service team looks after meal pacing, cocktails, mocktails and the bar.
