Northbrook Farm feels like a family story that has been opened up to share. A century farmhouse, perennial gardens and towering mature trees set the tone for an outdoor wedding that feels personal from the first step onto the lawn.
The 10-acre property sits in the Township of Severn, just outside Orillia and about an hour from the north side of Toronto. The farmhouse dates to 1852, built with stacked board construction from wood harvested on the property, and the land was the setting for weddings as early as the 1900s.
Ceremonies take place in the gardens beside a peaceful koi pond, surrounded by hostas, annuals and perennial blooms framed by hardwood trees. White folding chairs for 150, a signing table, and a microphone and amp are part of the ceremony setup.
Receptions are held in an elegant 40 by 75 foot framed white tent with no interior poles, glowing with chandeliers and fabric swags strung with fairy lights. It comes with rustic harvest tables, hardwood folding chairs, a bar and a podium, and doubles as a covered backup if the weather turns.
The venue accommodates up to approximately 150 guests, with a stated maximum capacity of 160.
A catering area connected to the tent includes a commercial fridge, food warmer and prep space, and a utility building nearby holds a fridge and freezer. Washrooms with flushing toilets and accessible facilities are close at hand.
Northbrook hosts only one wedding per weekend, with setup available from Friday at noon and cleanup extended to Sunday morning. As the evening goes on, guests can gather around a campfire tended by Northbrook staff, weather permitting.
For couples who dream of gardens, a glowing tent and a relaxed weekend in the countryside near Orillia, Northbrook Farm Weddings & Events offers a historic setting with room to make the celebration entirely their own.
