Museum Of Anthropology At UBC

Few places hold a wedding with the same sense of meaning. At the Museum of Anthropology at UBC, couples can exchange vows beneath the art and architecture of the Great Hall, in one of Canada's foremost cultural attractions.

The museum sits on the University of British Columbia campus in Vancouver, and its spaces can be rented for weddings as well as corporate and community events.

MOA welcomes weddings of up to approximately 100 guests. The Great Hall is the setting for the ceremony, and the Haida House, created by artists Bill Reid and Doug Cranmer, can serve as an alternate ceremony space.

Guests can enjoy cocktails on the Museum Grounds overlooking Howe Sound before moving to dinner and dancing.

The Courtyard Room accommodates around 100 guests reception-style or 70 for dinner, and its café counter can become a ready-made bar. The adjacent Outdoor Courtyard, surrounded by soaring cedars and hemlocks, can be tented or used open-air and seats about 100 for dinner.

The Haida House can host around 40 for an intimate dinner or 100 reception-style, and the Lobby is ideal for a welcome station or late-night dancing.

Rentals take place in the evening, any day except Thursdays, and include exclusive access to the museum's galleries. Couples are welcome to use any caterer they like.
