Mount Engadine Lodge

At Mount Engadine Lodge, a wedding unfolds above an alpine meadow deep in the Kananaskis Valley, with towering peaks on every side and no crowds in sight.

The lodge is one of the few road-accessible backcountry lodges in the Canadian Rockies, about an hour from Canmore and Banff. Couples have the whole property to themselves for a relaxed two-night stay, with the ceremony on the second day.

Vows can be said on the large outdoor patio overlooking the open meadow, framed by mountain views, or inside the lodge, where warm wood and big windows look out to the peaks. Up to 38 guests can celebrate, and elopements for up to 10 are also offered.

The package is all inclusive. Fifteen places to stay, from lodge rooms and cabins to glamping tents and a camping yurt, all with private ensuite bathrooms, house the whole group, and there are two bridal suites in the main lodge.

Every meal is included: a hearty breakfast, packed lunch, afternoon tea with charcuterie and a three-course plated dinner from chef-crafted menus using local, seasonal ingredients. The bar pours local craft beer, wine and cocktails.

Between celebrations, guests can hike, paddleboard, snowshoe or ski, warm up in the sauna and gather around the fire pit for stargazing.
