Miramichi Golf & Country Club

At the Miramichi Golf & Country Club, couples can say their vows on a gently sloping lawn above the Miramichi River, with a two hundred year old stone mansion standing behind them.

The club was founded in 1925 on the south bank of the river at Bushville, and it celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2025. Its clubhouse is a recognized historic place: a stone mansion built in 1825 by Thomas H. Peters, a Loyalist merchant, that survived the Great Miramichi Fire of that same year.

The original mansion remains largely as it was, with a later addition on its south side, and it is still the heart of the club.

For an outdoor ceremony, the treed front yard looks over the river, and its natural slope lets guests sit in rising rows with a clear view of the couple. The front veranda of the clubhouse makes a handsome backdrop for photos.

Receptions are held in the banquet room, which seats up to 160 guests. The club's kitchen team creates a custom menu for each wedding, and the patios offer river and course views for cocktails before dinner.

The par 71 course winds through tall New Brunswick evergreens, so golfers in the wedding party can play a round before the celebration.
