Few places in Moncton carry as much history in their walls as an estate that is as old as Canada itself.
Magnetic Hill Winery sits atop Magnetic Hill, beside the Magnetic Hill Illusion, on an 1867 estate that owners Jeff and Janet Everett restored after it had been abandoned for 20 years. Wines are grown, harvested and crafted on site, so every celebration can be paired with a true taste of New Brunswick.
The winery offers three distinct spaces for events. The Tasting Room is the largest, accommodating up to 150 guests across two floors finished with restored wood sourced from historic New Brunswick barns. Large doors open onto a spacious patio with a view of Moncton's cityscape, and the room suits both sit-down meals and upscale cocktail events.
For smaller weddings, the restored Historic 1867 Barn showcases its original wood and welcomes intimate gatherings of up to 35 guests. It opens onto an outdoor courtyard and is available during the summer months.
The Rustic Cellar, where the winery began, is a private bar space for up to 30 guests, with a bar and two cozy sitting areas. Personalized wine tastings led by a dedicated bartender make it a lovely setting for a smaller gathering around the wedding.
Guests can also stay on the estate. The Guesthouse offers two rooms in the historic 1867 house, each with a queen bed and a private ensuite, along with a shared living space with a gas fireplace and a small coffee bar.
Around the property, grape vines, a pond and landscaping frame the restored buildings, giving guests places to wander between toasts.
To begin planning, the winery invites couples to complete its Venue Rental Request Form.
For couples who picture local wine, historic barn wood and city views from a hilltop patio, Magnetic Hill Winery offers a celebration where every moment is paired with something poured just steps away.
