Loondocks

At Loondocks, an intimate wedding can unfold on a rooftop patio surrounded by the chef's own herb and vegetable gardens, in a restaurant that feels like a cozy Muskoka cottage.

Chef Kevin and maitre d' Brittany, a husband-and-wife team who grew up in Muskoka, first opened Loondocks in Port Carling in 2012, naming it after the loon whose calls carry across the lakes at night. In 2018 they moved the restaurant to Appleby Village in Burlington to be closer to family.

The warm cottage atmosphere reflects their Muskoka roots, balancing comfort with a touch of elegance. The main dining room seats up to 80 guests for dinner and holds up to 120 for a reception.

The rooftop garden patio is a lovely setting for a small wedding of up to 40 guests in the warmer months. There is also an upscale bar and lounge and a patio on the main level, and events can be semi-private or fully exclusive.

The kitchen serves chef-driven Canadian cooking with French and Italian influences, made fresh from scratch. Couples can choose prix fixe or tasting menus, passed hors d'oeuvres or live chef stations, paired with a unique wine list, local craft beers and signature cocktails.
