La Vieille Usine de l'Anse-à-Beaufils

At La Vieille Usine, a wedding takes place in a former cod plant overlooking the fishing harbour and the Gulf of St. Lawrence.

The building stands in the heart of L'Anse-à-Beaufils, a small village that is part of Percé. When the cod plant closed for good in 1986, two residents set out to turn it into a cultural centre, and dozens of villagers invested to save the heritage building and the harbour.

Today it houses a theatre, a café bistro with a terrace right on the wharf, and an art gallery and shop where more than 180 Gaspésie creators show their work.

The centre welcomes private events such as weddings, birthdays and other celebrations. Couples can request the theatre, either side of the café bistro, the multipurpose room upstairs and other spaces.

Catering is available on site, and the team can also arrange live music from its roster of artists, or couples can handle the logistics themselves with staff on hand to help.

For couples who picture a celebration by the sea in a building full of village history and art, La Vieille Usine offers a wedding with true Gaspésie character.
