À propos
Global Centre for Pluralism

A wedding at the Global Centre for Pluralism unfolds inside a restored 1905 landmark in the heart of Ottawa, with garden beds outside and views of the Ottawa River from the upper floor.

The building was designed by Chief Dominion Architect David Ewart and served for decades as the Dominion Archives, later housing the Canadian War Museum. After a multiyear restoration, it reopened in 2017 as the Centre's headquarters, within sight of Parliament.

The Courtyard is the romantic heart of the venue: a cobblestone plaza of roughly 3,200 square feet framed by landscaped gardens and the historic stone walls. It suits an aisle ceremony under open sky, a champagne reception or a tented dinner, and it can be heated. It holds up to 250 for a ceremony, 145 for a seated banquet or 400 standing.

Indoors, the Dialogue Centre has cathedral ceilings and white oak panelling carved in a trefoil pattern, with seating that can be cleared for a dance floor. The bright Lobby, with its cathedral ceiling and floating ring chandelier, works well for a cocktail hour of up to 100.

Caterers have a fully equipped warming kitchen, and the venue provides furniture, staging, lighting and sound. An in-house event coordinator works alongside the couple's vendors.

The ByWard Market, the National Gallery of Canada, downtown hotels and restaurants are all a short walk away.

For couples who picture vows in a garden courtyard wrapped in more than a century of capital history, the Global Centre for Pluralism offers a wedding that is elegant, meaningful and unmistakably Ottawa.
