Fredericton Convention Centre

The Fredericton Convention Centre gives couples a true blank canvas in the heart of the capital, a place to build the wedding they have imagined from the lighting up.

The centre opened in January 2011 on Queen Street in downtown Fredericton, surrounded by independent shops, restaurants, live music and one of the country's notable art galleries, so guests have plenty to explore over a wedding weekend.

Its largest room, Pointe Ste-Anne, covers about 12,480 square feet and can seat roughly 900 guests for a banquet, or be divided into smaller sections for a more intimate dinner. Rooms such as Marysville, Barker's Point and Nashwaaksis suit smaller gatherings, and the Capital Terrace adds space for a reception of about 200.

Couples can bring in local planners and decorators to transform the space, and the team will prepare a custom wedding package for each date. In house AV experts can add lighting, sound and draping, with rigging points throughout the ballroom.

Catering is handled by the centre's own culinary team, and the chef has been known to go over menus with guests who have dietary needs. Fresh Maritime seafood is available all year.

The building is fully accessible, staff can serve guests in English or French, and an attached parking garage connects directly to the centre. Weddings can be confirmed about nine months ahead.
