The Fogolar Furlan

A wedding at the Fogolar Furlan in Windsor carries the warmth of the family hearth, which is exactly what the club's Friulian name means.

The club began in 1961, when Friulian immigrants to Windsor wanted a place to keep their old Sunday gathering traditions alive. Its first building opened in 1966, and weddings have been at the heart of the club ever since.

Couples can choose from rooms of many sizes. The Main Hall holds about 500 guests, and the Canada or Friuli Hall on its own about 250. The Fogolar Room seats about 100 and the Pordenone Room about 48 for smaller gatherings.

Windsor Hall, opened in 2005 in a converted gymnasium, has hardwood floors, a curved bar, a gas fireplace and its own small patio. It holds about 200 guests and can be split into north and south rooms.

In warmer months, the patio and gazebo welcome up to about 180 guests, and the pavilion is open from May to October for celebrations of a similar size.

A large kitchen built in 2002 serves the halls, and the team works with each couple on a custom wedding package to fit their plans and budget.
