False Creek Community Centre

Some celebrations feel right close to the water, where the day can spill out toward the park and the seawall.

False Creek Community Centre sits on Granville Island, overlooking the waterfront, and offers two halls suited to weddings depending on the size of the guest list.

Lind Hall is the larger space, at about 3,185 square feet with capacity for up to approximately 200 guests. It has lots of natural light and a door leading directly outside to Sutcliffe Park and Alder Bay.

Tyee Hall offers a smaller option of about 1,050 square feet for up to approximately 60 guests, also with natural light and a door leading directly outside.

Both halls have access to a kitchen for storing and reheating food. Couples can bring in their own food or hire the caterer of their choice, as catering is not provided by the centre.

Tables and chairs are provided for each room's capacity, and a projector, screen, microphone and small speaker are available to rent for the halls.

For after-hours rentals on weekends, alcohol service is possible with approval from the rental coordinator, a Special Event Permit and a certified server.

Neighbouring Sutcliffe Park, with its duck pond, is a public space, but it can be a lovely place for photographs on a first-come, first-served basis.
