Picture a hardwood floor, pine tables and Dutch windows opening onto a view of Fort Edmonton Park. Egge's Barn brings a western flavour to a wedding without ever feeling staged.
Egge's Barn is a reproduction of a 1903 barn that was unusual in its day for its size, built to hold 20 to 30 teams of horses. Today its second floor is a gathering place for wedding parties, dances and celebrations with a country or western theme.
The space can accommodate approximately 100 guests. Natural pine tables complement the hardwood floor, and the windows open to a view across the Park. Guests should note that the venue is on the second level and is not wheelchair accessible.
Egge's Barn is one of more than ten year-round venues throughout Fort Edmonton Park. Couples can plan a full-day experience here, including the ceremony, photos and reception.
For the ceremony, couples booking a reception in the Park can add Memorial Garden in Fountain Park for around 100 standing guests, the Church of St. Michael and All Angels for approximately 75 seated, or St. Anthony's Catholic Church for around 40 seated.
Admission to the Park is included for guests, hotel rooms are available for overnight stays and wedding day preparations, and the happy couple receives lifetime general admission. The Park's own catering kitchen serves events across the grounds.
Couples choose their own officiant, and a complimentary one-hour rehearsal can be confirmed two weeks before the booking, subject to availability.
