Dragon's Lodge

Some celebrations are best when the whole place belongs to you for a few days: the lodge, the forest, the ocean and the people you love.

Dragon's Lodge is a 5-acre oceanfront property on Gabriola Island, rented as a complete venue so couples can plan a wedding entirely in their own style. The setting offers panoramic ocean views, dramatic cliffs and a peaceful private lake.

At the centre is a spacious 6,500-square-foot lodge. The event space welcomes 50 guests, with room for up to 80 on the event day.

Guests do not need to leave when the evening ends. The lodge sleeps up to 30 people across 11 ocean and forest view rooms, and 8 rustic cedar cabins in the surrounding forest can house additional guests.

The lodge comes fully furnished, with a full kitchen, dishware, washers and dryers. Most rentals here are for weddings, though the venue does not offer packages, but the team is happy to share a contact list of caterers, rental companies and photographers to help with planning.

An outdoor fire pit, with some wood provided to get started, gives everyone a place to gather as the night settles over the island.

Family can arrive early, settle into their rooms and turn a single day into a shared island weekend.
