Domaine Joly-De Lotbinière

A wedding at Domaine Joly-De Lotbinière unfolds among flowering gardens and historic buildings, with the St. Lawrence River opening up below the point.

The estate sits on Pointe Platon in Sainte-Croix, in the Lotbinière region. It was the 19th century summer retreat of the seigneurial Joly de Lotbinière family, laid out in the picturesque style, and it is now classified as a Québec heritage property and a National Historic Site of Canada.

The point has a long story. Traces show Indigenous families spent their summers here some 4,500 years ago, close to the beach and a small waterfall, and explorers sailed past it as early as 1535.

Couples have the whole site to themselves and their guests from 5 p.m. The gardens, river lookouts and romantic old buildings give photographers plenty of settings to work with.

Spaces include the Préau du clos St-Laurent, the Loft de la remise à voiture, Les appartements de Madame au Manoir and the Cottage des serviteurs with its terrace. A clear tent seats about 120 at round tables, and a new multipurpose room with a river view opens in fall 2026, seating up to about 140.

Couples choose their own caterer and can draw on the estate's list of suppliers, while a dedicated team guides the planning. A ceremony only package is also offered for those who want to say their vows in this setting.
