Burnaby Village Museum

Stained glass, wooden pews and a heritage village give a wedding here a sense of stepping gently back in time.

Burnaby Village Museum on Deer Lake Avenue hosts events ranging from small weddings to large functions of more than 2,000 people.

The Church is the natural place to say vows. It has hardwood floors, an upright piano, traditional stained glass windows and 14 authentic wooden pews, with capacity for 84 guests in scheduled time slots.

For a gathering afterward, the Discovery Room holds 80 to 100 guests and includes a warming kitchen. In summer, the Outdoor Pavilion, covered by two white tents with tables and chairs, suits 30 to 60 guests.

Couples planning something larger can book the full site, which includes most exhibits and the 1912 CW Parker Carousel with operators for four hours.

During public hours, guests are welcome to tour the village, so a couple might invite family to tour the village between the ceremony and the celebration.
