Founded by Jacques and Daniel, Bridgeland Distillery is a working craft distillery on Edmonton Trail NE in Calgary, about five minutes from downtown. Its whiskies begin in farmers' fields, and it is Canada's first and only 100% Craft Malt Certified distillery.
For couples planning a smaller wedding, the distillery can host up to 50 guests, with flexible layouts that adapt to the style of the celebration.
The tasting room, the heart of the distillery, offers an intimate setting for cozy receptions. The outdoor patio, with fresh air, picnic tables and yard games, can host an outdoor wedding ceremony or a cocktail reception under the stars.
Food is flexible. The distillery works with several local caterers for buffet or sit-down service, and couples who already have a caterer in mind can bring them in. Because the distillery is licensed as a bar, drinks are handled in house, with local beer, wine, cocktails and the distillery's own spirits.
Depending on the size of the event, the team supplies tables and chairs, handles set-up and take-down, including decorations, and offers an in-house music system that can connect to a playlist or a DJ.
Couples can also say thank you with personalized wedding favours: award-winning spirits bottled under a private label made by the distillery.
