Some places make you slow down the moment you arrive. Braestone Farm, set in the fields of Oro-Medonte, is surrounded by the kind of landscape that seems to quiet the rest of the world.
The farm sits near Coldwater, where 100 acres of preserved nature wind through the property, with sugar maples, streams and ponds waiting to be explored. The landscape shaped the design of the venue, and it remains the star of every celebration.
Ceremonies can take place on the back terrace, under the string lights or in the apple orchard, where rows of fruit trees change with the seasons from spring buds to autumn colour. Couples have exclusive access to the landscapes around the property, with up to 115 ceremony chairs and a signing table set up for them.
The reception moves into the Barn, a reimagined rustic-modern space with floor-to-ceiling windows, whitewashed walls, wood floors and a cathedral exposed-truss ceiling. It seats up to 138 guests indoors and works as a blank canvas for each couple's own style.
Outside, the patio glows with string lights and two stone fire pits, overlooking land that slopes down to a pond. A black-fenced paddock lined with maples is home to grazing horses, and a baseball diamond known as the Field of Dreams can host pre-wedding fun, subject to availability.
Harvest tables, wood cruiser tables and high-back Windsor chairs are included, along with set-up of the ceremony and reception areas and place settings. A golf cart shuttle helps guests who need it and carries the couple out for photographs, and an onsite event captain follows the day-of itinerary.
The venue is available year round, with day use from 1 p.m. to midnight or a weekend rental from Friday afternoon to Sunday morning.
For couples who dream of an orchard ceremony, a light-filled barn and fire pits glowing beside a quiet pond, Braestone Farm offers a countryside wedding where the land itself feels like the most generous guest.
