Blachford Lake Lodge & Wilderness Resort

Imagine saying your vows where the only sounds are wind in the trees and the lake beyond, and where the night sky may be lit by the Northern Lights.

Blachford Lodge is a fly-in wilderness retreat just outside Yellowknife in the Northwest Territories. Guests arrive by a 20-minute bush plane flight that lands right on Blachford Lake, on floats in summer and on skis in winter.

The lodge welcomes weddings, honeymoons, engagements and bachelor and bachelorette parties, with intimate ceremonies, cozy cabins and wide northern skies setting the scene.

This is a place for a small, close-knit celebration. The entire lodge and property can be reserved for groups of up to 22 guests, based on two people per room or cabin, so everyone attending can stay together.

Accommodation includes cozy lodge rooms and private lakeside cabins. A fully staffed on-site team manages meals, logistics, programs and safety, so the couple and their guests can simply be present.

Days can be filled with guided activities such as aurora watching, fishing, hiking and cultural experiences, turning a wedding into a shared northern adventure.

The lodge began as a trapper's cabin in the 1940s, became a wilderness fishing camp in 1981 and was acquired by Arctic Kingdom in 2023. Today it runs on off-grid solar energy and serves locally sourced meals.
