A wedding at Auberge du Pommier feels like slipping away to a country inn in France, with wood fires glowing and a garden terrace waiting just outside, all without leaving Toronto.

The restaurant sits on Yonge Street in North York, just north of York Mills and south of the 401. It was built around the remains of two woodcutters' cottages dating from the 1860s, and the rooms are dressed in classic French décor with wood-burning fireplaces and an old European warmth.

In the warmer months, the lush garden terrace is used for outdoor ceremonies and receptions, so couples can exchange vows among the greenery and then move straight inside for dinner.

For smaller celebrations there are two private dining rooms. The Oscar Room seats 40 or holds 60 for a reception, and the Sophie Room seats 32 or holds 40. Couples who want the whole place can book a full buyout, which seats 80 (66 with a sweetheart table) or welcomes up to 120 for a reception, available on Saturdays for lunch and on Sundays for lunch or dinner.

The kitchen is known for refined French cooking, and all-inclusive wedding packages are offered for Saturdays and Sundays. An events team helps with planning, from rehearsal dinners to the reception itself.

Underground parking in the neighbouring corporate centre is complimentary for evening guests after 5:30 pm.
