Anemone Dining

At Anemone Dining, a wedding feels like a private dinner party for the people who matter most, held in a candlelit room tucked inside a historic brewery building on the Halifax waterfront.

Anemone sits in the Historic Brewery Market in downtown Halifax. By day the room works as a cozy cafe, and by night it becomes a fully private event space, so couples and their guests have it entirely to themselves for the length of their celebration.

The venue specializes in micro weddings and can host the whole day in one place: the ceremony, cocktail hour, photos, dinner and dancing. Couples can also book just part of the day if they prefer.

The space can be set up three ways, for gatherings of up to 40 guests. A small group can sit together at one long table, a slightly larger party can spread across three tables with banquette seating, and a mix and mingle reception works well as a standing cocktail party.

Food comes from a chef-led kitchen focused on fresh, local ingredients. Each wedding menu is planned with the couple ahead of time, with two main course protein choices and room for dietary needs. Couples are welcome to bring their own wedding cake, and the in-house baker also makes cakes and desserts.

The bar program is led by an award-nominated bartender and offers cocktails, beer, wine, cider and mixed drinks, along with a wide choice of non-alcoholic drinks. A sommelier on the team can suggest wine pairings for each course, and signature drinks can be added to suit the couple.
