Anchorage House & Cottages

At Anchorage House and Cottages, couples say their vows on a lawn above Hubbards Cove, with a weeping willow shading the altar and a 19th-century Victorian home standing beside them.

The property overlooks Hubbards Cove on St. Margaret's Bay along Nova Scotia's South Shore. A private dock, kayaks for paddling the inlet and nearby Hubbards Beach make the water part of the day, and golden-hour photos along the shore come easily.

Weddings of up to 80 guests have exclusive use of the whole property. Ceremonies take place on the front lawn facing the cove, and receptions move into a spacious wedding tent on the grass near the cottages.

The wedding package includes the tent with setup and teardown, ceremony chairs, round tables with linens, tableware and glassware, lighting, a dance floor, a wedding arch and a special occasion licence. The team also handles decorating, setup, cleanup and coordination with outside vendors on the day.

Eleven cottages and a sleeping cabin host more than 40 guests, with many offering fireplaces, whirlpool tubs, kitchens and decks with barbecues. A heated salt-water pool, fire pits and games fill the hours around the celebration, and rehearsal dinners and next-day brunches can be held on site.
