Amherst Golf Club

A wedding at Amherst Golf Club comes with wide open views across the Tantramar marsh, where the land runs out toward the Northumberland Strait.

The club has deep roots in Amherst. Golf was first played here on a farm in West Amherst in 1909, and the original layouts were designed by Fred Richwood, who spent years working alongside the English golf great Harry Vardon. The course grew to a full 18 holes as a centennial project, and the current clubhouse opened in 1971.

Today the clubhouse has an inviting feel and can host anything from a small gathering to a wedding of up to 135 guests in its generous function space.

The championship course and peaceful, pastoral grounds make a lovely backdrop for photos, from tree-lined fairways to a pond with a fountain beside the final green.

The on-site team provides catering with a wide range of menu choices, and the staff help couples plan each part of the day.
