918 Bathurst is one of those Toronto venues that feels memorable before a single wedding decoration arrives.

Originally built as a Buddhist temple in the 1950s, the Annex landmark has been transformed into a cultural and event centre while preserving the soaring timber framework and distinctive architecture of its original Sanctuary.

Weddings and receptions are explicitly part of the venue's current rental program.

The Sanctuary is the heart of the building, accommodating approximately 180 guests seated or around 125 with dinner tables.

Its high A-frame ceiling and warm wood structure give ceremonies and receptions a sense of scale without making the room feel cold.

Smaller Sun and Star Rooms can support more intimate pieces of the day, while the lower level provides additional rooms and kitchen facilities.

Couples can bring in catering and shape the venue around the wedding they want, rather than being tied to a standardized banquet package.
