Getting married in the Yukon already comes with a sense of place that is difficult to recreate anywhere else.

Yukon Gardens is a second-generation family-run greenhouse, nursery and garden centre in Whitehorse that has been growing plants in the territory for more than forty years. Alongside the nursery, it maintains a dedicated outdoor wedding garden specifically for ceremonies and celebrations.

The ceremony setting begins with a simple arbour leading into the garden.

From there, seasonal flowers and greenery surround the place where couples exchange their vows. Because this is a working northern garden rather than scenery created solely for events, the look of the space naturally changes through the growing season.

That makes every wedding feel connected to when it happened.

Flowers that are blooming in early summer may be completely different from those surrounding a ceremony later in the season. The garden becomes part of the date itself.

After the ceremony, guests can wander through the neighbouring show gardens while the newly married couple disappears for photographs among the plantings.

There is something especially lovely about that.

The formal part of the day finishes, everyone relaxes and suddenly the wedding becomes a garden gathering. Guests talk, explore and take photographs while the couple gets a few quieter minutes together.

The wedding garden can accommodate up to approximately 200 people, with seating available for around 100. Yukon Gardens also provides plenty of parking and accepts wedding bookings throughout the week.

It is important to understand what this venue does best.

This is primarily a beautiful outdoor ceremony setting rather than a traditional ballroom reception venue.

And for couples who already have another place planned for dinner and dancing, that may be exactly what they need.
