The Truffle Farm

There are farm weddings.

And then there is getting married on Canada's first truffle farm.

Set on ten acres in Parksville on Vancouver Island, The Truffle Farm is a working agricultural property where Black Périgord truffles grow beneath Garry oak and hazelnut trees, flowers are grown on the farm and weddings revolve as much around food and experience as they do around the setting.

At the centre is the Truffle Barn.

The air-conditioned barn seats intimate celebrations of up to approximately 60 guests around long farm tables, with a large door opening directly toward the orchard and grounds outside.

A ceremony can happen beneath the hazelnut trees.

Afterward, guests can wander the property while the couple slips away for photographs among the truffle orchard and seasonal flowers.

Then everyone gathers around the table.

And here, that table matters.

The farm's own Black Périgord truffles can become part of the meal, alongside other ingredients connected to the property. Even the florals can come from flowers grown on the farm itself.

That makes the wedding feel wonderfully rooted in where it is happening.

This is not an event barn placed on farmland purely for scenery.

The farm is alive and working.

The trees surrounding the ceremony are growing something.

The flowers have been raised there.

The food can quite literally come from the land outside the doors.

There is also on-site accommodation above the barn in The Truffle Hut, which can serve as a private preparation space and somewhere to remain overnight.
