The Glen at Crossmount

The Glen at Crossmount feels like Saskatchewan decided to grow a wedding venue right out of the prairie.

Less than five kilometres south of Saskatoon, more than 40 acres of countryside unfold into landscaped gardens, a natural pond and an orchard filled with 1,500 apple trees. It feels wonderfully removed from the city, yet close enough that guests do not have to travel far to find it.

A wedding here can begin long before the aisle.

Couples have private suites for getting ready, while outside the orchard, gardens and prairie give those quiet first photographs somewhere beautiful to happen.

Then everyone gathers.

The outdoor wedding garden has its own arch, flower beds and views toward the orchard, creating a ceremony setting where flowers seem to carry on beyond the end of the aisle.

Up to 200 guests can celebrate at The Glen, and when the vows are finished, nobody needs to leave.

Cocktails can spill onto the patio while the newlyweds disappear into the property for photographs beside the pond, among the gardens or beneath rows of orchard trees.

Then the doors to Glenlyon Hall open.

Exposed wooden beams rise above the room. Crystal chandeliers sparkle overhead. Walls of windows keep the gardens and prairie connected to the celebration, while a grand bar waits for the evening ahead.

Up to 200 guests can gather around round tables, or couples can choose long tables for a dinner that feels more like one enormous gathering of family and friends.

There are lovely little ways to make the landscape part of the celebration too.

Guests can gather around a fire pit, wander the grounds or even experience the orchard behind the cider made at neighbouring Crossmount Cider Company.

And Saskatchewan saves one of its best tricks for later.

Golden hour arrives.

The orchard catches the evening light.

The prairie sky seems impossibly wide.

Everyone who came outside for one photograph ends up staying for another.

Then the sun disappears and the chandeliers take over.

Dinner becomes speeches.

Speeches become dancing.

And a place that felt enormous beneath the prairie sky suddenly feels wonderfully small, because everyone who matters is together in the same glowing room.

For one night, somewhere between the apple trees and that endless Saskatchewan horizon, The Glen becomes completely yours.
