The Gem

The Gem has one decorating advantage no florist could ever deliver.

The Canadian Rockies are already outside the windows.

Set in Harvie Heights between Canmore and Banff, this contemporary wedding venue wraps the celebration in floor-to-ceiling mountain views, pairing one of Alberta's most dramatic landscapes with a space that feels modern, warm and deliberately uncomplicated.

Up to 150 guests can sit down together, while standing celebrations can reach 200.

The ceremony can happen outside with the mountains rising behind the vows, or indoors without losing the landscape that brought everyone here in the first place.

Inside, enormous windows keep the Rockies connected to the room.

A loft looks over the main reception space.

The Opal Bar upstairs and Onyx Bar downstairs create different places for guests to gather as the day moves from ceremony to cocktails and eventually into the party.

There are private getting-ready spaces too, giving the wedding party somewhere quiet before everything suddenly begins happening at once.

And now the wedding does not necessarily end at the venue doors.

Ten modern two-bedroom suites sit on site with indoor access to The Gem Event Centre, allowing couples to turn the celebration into a proper mountain weekend.

That means some of the people who danced together the night before can still be together over coffee the next morning.

There is something lovely about that.

Because eventually every wedding reaches the point where nobody wants it to be over.
